The Vassar-Chadwick Chess Club meets in the Town of Poughkeepsie on the Vassar College campus from September to May, and on the Marist College campus from June to August.\u00a0 Both playing sites can be accessed easily from US 9, US 44, Route 55, Route 376, Taconic State Parkway, and Interstate 84.\u00a0 Detailed directions are as follows:<\/p>\n
Vassar College Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n From the South via US 9:<\/em><\/p>\n Take US 9 north to route 113 east \u2013 Spackenkill Rd.\u00a0 Left at the second light \u2013 Wilbur Blvd.\u00a0 Take Wilbur to the end and make a right on Hooker Av.\u00a0 Take Hooker Av a short distance to route 376 north and make a right there.\u00a0 Take route 376 northward to the first traffic circle and make a right onto the campus at the Main Gate entrance.<\/p>\n From the South via Taconic State Pkwy:<\/em><\/p>\n Take the Taconic north past I-84 to route 55 west \u2013 Poughkeepsie.\u00a0 Continue on route 55 west and make a left onto route 376 south (Raymond Av Ext).\u00a0 Take 376 south to the first traffic circle and go left there (Collegeview Av).\u00a0 Take Collegeview to the end and turn right onto the campus at the North Gate entrance.<\/p>\n From the North via Taconic State Pkwy:<\/em><\/p>\n Take the Taconic south to US 44 west \u2013 Poughkeepsie. \u00a0Continue on US 44 westward and make a left onto route 376 south (Raymond Av Ext).\u00a0 Take 376 south to the first traffic circle and go left there (Collegeview Av).\u00a0 Take Collegeview to the end and turn right onto the campus at the North Gate entrance.<\/p>\n From the Southeast via Interstate 84:<\/em><\/p>\n Take I-84 west to exit 16N \u2013 Taconic State Pkwy north.\u00a0 Take the Taconic north past I-84 to route 55 west \u2013 Poughkeepsie.\u00a0 Continue on route 55 westward and make a left onto route 376 south (Raymond Av Ext).\u00a0 Take 376 south to the first traffic circle and go left there (Collegeview Av).\u00a0 Take Collegeview to the end and turn right onto the campus at the North Gate entrance.<\/p>\n From the Southwest via Interstate 84:<\/em><\/p>\n Take I-84 east to exit 13 \u2013 US 9 Fishkill.\u00a0 Make a left onto US 9 and continue north to route 113 east \u2013 Spackenkill Rd.\u00a0 Left at the second light \u2013 Wilbur Blvd.\u00a0 Take Wilbur to the end and make a right on Hooker Av.\u00a0 Take Hooker Av a short distance to route 376 north and make a right there.\u00a0 Take route 376 northward to the first traffic circle and make a right onto the campus at the Main Gate entrance.<\/p>\n From the West via Mid-Hudson Bridge:<\/em><\/p>\n Continue straight off the bridge on US 44\/Route 55 through the City of Poughkeepsie to route 376 (Raymond Av).\u00a0 Make a right to route 376 south to the first traffic circle and go left there (Collegeview Av).\u00a0 Take Collegeview to the end and turn right onto the campus at the North Gate entrance.<\/p>\n Parking at Vassar College<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n From the North Gate entrance:<\/em><\/p>\n Immediately off to the right is a parking lot.\u00a0 Follow it west, then south to find continued visitor parking.\u00a0 At the end of the lot is a path south.\u00a0 Rockefeller Hall will be off to the left after walking past the dorm adjacent to the lot.<\/p>\n Alternatively, continue straight southward to an intersection where the street bends to the right.\u00a0 At the intersection, there is a small lot off to your left with some visitor parking.\u00a0 There are also five spots adjacent to the small lot on the one-way road against you, so you would have to loop around the main building to access them (follow the signs for admissions).\u00a0 Rockefeller Hall is to your right as you approach the intersection.<\/p>\n From the Main Gate entrance:<\/em><\/p>\n Some visitor parking exists on the street immediately after the guard shack.\u00a0 Alternatively, you can take a right at the end of that street, and follow the drive around and bare left to a loop road by following the signs towards admissions.\u00a0 Towards the end of the loop are five visitor spots in front of you, a small lot to your right, and an intersection immediately afterwards.\u00a0 Rockefeller Hall will be in front of you as you face the intersection.<\/p>\n Raymond Av Parking:<\/em><\/p>\n On Raymond Av (Route 376) itself between the Main Gate and a second traffic circle (there are three in total), there is a black iron gate near a pair of brick columns and a path the crosses the road.\u00a0 Park nearby and enter through this gate.\u00a0 Take the path to the right around the short building and Rockefeller Hall will be in front of you (the library is to the right).<\/p>\n Marist
