The club is open to everyone (not just students, and not just residents of Dutchess county) and there are no membership dues. All of our tournaments are nationally rated by the United States Chess Federation (USCF) and therefore require USCF memberships (unless explicitly stated otherwise). We meet most Monday nights, sometimes run tournaments on weekends, and have been known to feature special events.
Our premier event, the Dutchess County Chess Championship, takes place in early Spring, and has attracted some of the strongest players in the Mid-Hudson valley. Starting in 2017, we have added a second premier event, the Vassar-Chadwick Club Championship, which occurs in the Fall.
Are you interested in chess? Come and join us Monday nights at 7PM with most tournaments starting at 7:30PM.
Circumstances or special events may adjust these meeting places and times, so see the Schedule page for specific event details.
