In the 2 day finals of the Opera Euro Rapid chess tournament, Wesley So faced against World Champion Magnus Carlson. The first day ended in a draw after four games. In the first game of the 2nd day, Wesley got an important win. Magnus had his chances, but in the end Wesley held on and took the event.

Wesley is also the FIDE Chess960 world champion…do we have yet another American on track to challenge Magnus in classical chess?
