Congratulations to Brandon Wang, who recently passed the 2000 rating mark at the Fairfield County Chess Club Friday Night Action tournament, defeating a 2100 player along the way and joining the ranks of Expert. Did I mention he just turned 11?

I don’t know how up to date USCF’s top rating lists are, but if the result stands until the next rating report, it will place Brandon #16th in the country for his age group. Impressive is an understatement.
